Oasis Toronto Assault Caught On Video!
09/08/2008

For once, kids, DO try this at home - just not at concerts.
By Fred Mills
Sunday night at Toronto's V Festival, headliner Oasis had an incident during the middle of their set: as they played "Morning Glory" a member of the audience climbed onstage from the side, raced across to Noel Gallagher and shoved the guitarist to the ground. Apparently Gallagher was not injured, however, for after a short delay, the band resumed playing. Security grabbed the assailant, who was later charged with assault on Gallagher. As of this writing he remains unidentified.
The two-day festival also included Saturday headliners Foo Fighters, plus Bloc Party, Paul Weller, Silversun Pickups, the Kooks, Weakerthans and others.
A fan in the audience captured the Gallagher incident on video and posted it to YouTube (below). Watch for it at about 1:30 into the clip.
And expect a rash of similar boneheaded acts to commence at a concert near you when mooks and their digi-cam wielding friends aim for their 15 minutes of YouTube fame....
