We The People
(Sundazed Music)
The legend of late-‘60s garage-rockers We The People rests squarely on the shoulders of a single song - the manic, psyche-drenched, Farfisa-driven rave-up "My Brother, The Man." The crowning glory of the obscure Florida band's brief-but-prolific career, the song's crazed keyboard-bashing, crazy signature changes, and Zappaesque six-string freakouts have intrigued collectors for some four decades now.
Too Much Noise is a collection of the band's original material, a "must have" addition to the library of any garage-rock aficionado. With two strong songwriters in Wayne Proctor and Tommy Talton, the band cranked out uber-cool songs like "Mirror of Your Mind," mixing Delta stomp and British beat with psychedelica, or "In The Past," a melodic South Cali surf-rocker with raging raga strings. Blending three-chord rock with graceful melodies, shades of psychedelic color, and a little bit o' soul to create a unique soundscape, We The People's well-deserved legacy is preserved here for posterity.
